Windows Vista on a Tablet PC rocks!

I've been using Vista in Tablet mode quite a bit lately on my Toshiba M4. I have to say the experience is immensely better than it was under XP.

It's really some key changes that make all the difference. For example, there's now a handwriting personalization feature. Basically, Vista can learn my chicken scratch style writing over time to improve recognition. I don't have to stop to edit nearly as often as before.

When you do have to edit, you can tap on a word and a list of similar words will appear at the bottom of the tablet input panel. Chances are, all you have to do is select the correct replacement word.

Another example is password field behavior. Vista now automatically switches to the onscreen keyboard when you put the cursor in these fields. It's one less tap I have to make.

Overall, the tablet experience is more like what I expected, having used PDAs for many years. If you have a Tablet PC or are considering getting one in the near future, you will definitely want to consider using Windows Vista.
